Personality & Traits

General Overview		One of the Federation's most experienced starship commanders, Johnathan MacReynolds has served in Starfleet since the Dominion War. He tends to sometimes get a feeling that there's little left for the Federation to explore, especially now that the Dyson Alliance is exploring the Delta Quadrant, but he never entirely dislikes being proven wrong about that.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Having commanded starships for almost two decades now, MacReynolds has a wealth of knowledge and experience to fall back on. Sometimes this can be as much a curse as a blessing, when the universe - as it inevitably does - ends up throwing the unexpected at him.
Ambitions		The only major ambition MacReynolds has is to retain command of his ship - which explains why he only recently accepted promotion to flag rank.
Hobbies & Interests		MacReynolds has few hobbies and fewer interests outside of his ship. This has led him into some conflict in the past with his counseling and medical staff as they practically have to stage mutinies to get him to leave the ship under almost any circumstance. This also explains why he has nearly three years' worth of leave accrued.

Personal History		Having graduated Starfleet Academy a mere two years prior to the outbreak of the Dominion War, MacReynolds counted himself lucky that, when the war ended, he was still standing on the same deck that he'd been in when it started. He was reassigned to the Corps of Engineers team that was dispatched to Cardassia Prime to help the civilian government restore basic infrastructure and keep the planet inhabitable after the Dominion and Breen forces decimated the surface during the Alliance's final campaign into Cardassian space. Following the Corps of Engineers assignment, MacReynolds served as an engineer aboard the U.S.S. T'Vrenna and the U.S.S. Valiant before being made the Valiant's first officer when the XO died during an away mission in deep space. After serving as the Valiant's XO for six years, he was offered his own command - the Galaxy-class Starship Independence. The Independence, under his command, would clock more light-years traversed than any other Galaxy-class that was on active duty when it was decommissioned in 2410. The crew of the Independence, in a major show of loyalty to their captain, almost without exception applied for transfer to MacReynolds' current command, the U.S.S. Warden.
