Captains Log, Stardate 92386.2. This shall be the final log entry of the U.S.S. San Francisco.

Despite continued refits and repairs. Due to damages caused during the Dominion War, and recent findings of Iconian Gate travel, this vessels very spaceframe is beyond all possible repair.

The San Francisco, as much a member of our crew, as indeed the crew itself has served us valiantly over the past five years, and Starfleet for decades before that.

Starfleet has seen fit to decomission this vessel, her crew and spirit transferred to a new vessel, Starfleet has granted special dispensation and the new starship shall receive the name San Francisco, NCC-74780-A.

I shall miss the ship I have served upon for the past five years, she was my first command, and she has taken me and my crew through many difficult periods.
