Access to Consoles

Access to the Starfleet LCARS computer system is highly regulated. A standard set of authorization codes have been programmed into the starboard and engineering computer cores of all ships in order to stop any undesired access to the systems.

The codes are as follows:

ALPHA - TWO
Unlimited access to all ship's records, systems, commands and computers.

ALPHA - ONE
Unlimited access to all ship's records, systems and computers. No access to ship localized command functions.

BETA - TWO
Unlimited access to all ship's records, systems and computers. Limited access to command functions (except if stated otherwise by Commanding Officer).

BETA - ONE
Unlimited access to all ship's records, and computers. Limited access to command functions (unless approved by the Commanding Officer). Access to ship systems is limited to duty related functions.

DELTA - TWO
Limited access to all ship's records, systems, commands and computers. Access Limited to duty related functions.

DELTA - ONE
Limited access to all ship's records, and computers. Access limited to job related functions.


The following codes have been assigned to:

These values may be assigned to any crew members when required as per mission directives.

Access to all Starfleet data is highly regulated. A standard set of access levels have been programmed into the computer cores of all Starfleet installations in order to stop any undesired access to confidential data.

Security levels are also variable, and task-specific. Certain areas of the station are restricted to unauthorized personnel, regardless of security level. Security levels can also be raised, lowered, or revoked by Command personnel.

Security levels in use aboard the Starbase are:

Level 10 - Captain and Above
Level 9 - First Officer
Level 8 - Commander
Level 7 - Lt. Commander
Level 6 - Lieutenant
Level 5 - Lt. Junior Grade
Level 4 - Ensign
Level 3 - Non-Commissioned Crew
Level 2 - Civilian Personnel
Level 1 - Open Access (Read Only)

Note: Security Levels beyond current rank can and are bestowed where, when and to whom they are necessary.

The main computer grants access based on a battery of checks to the individual user, including face and voice recognition in conjunction with a vocal code as an added level of security.
