My transfer to the United Sector Taskforce is officially complete. As much as I look back fondly upon my previous assignment, it's apparent after 18 months that myself and the others of the former Lambda division - Tess, Ruaan, Asprir, and others - are better utilized here.

It's a little strange hopping from RA2 down to Captain and back up again, but I suppose that is one of the nuances of the system. It would have been harsh on Commander Cell, I think, to have unseated her on the centre chair of Maedhbh after she has been settled in for so long. Even if I am the Admiral-in-residence aboard.

I've met Vice Admiral Brex for the first time today, during the promotion ceremony. I wore the new pattern dress uniform, fitting as it is - I could have worn my commendation badge, but I did not feel it necessary for a relatively private ceremony as this, too flashy.

I feel like I failed my drill miserably, however. I really couldn't help but smile after hearing so many aspirations met when he handed out those promotions. Several new colleagues that I must meet and familiarize myself with now, and I am hoping that we do so in a work environment rather than at a social event. I don't like social events much.

I'm glad that I'm not a year 1 cadet any longer. We'll see if I get a reprimand for breaking line there. Hopefully not.

Supplemental: I am doubly glad that I am no longer a cadet. I seem to recall that my first year was arduous and a time that I would like to mostly forget. I find it more than a little ironic that someone in the lower end of a year 1 class has managed to attain and maintain a flag rank.
